Second Place, First Real Feedback: Orange Tank’s 10th Anniversary
We’re still riding the excitement from the competition. We took second place at Whitman School of Management’s 10th-anniversary Orange Tank Pitch Competition, and honestly, we’re grateful just to have had the opportunity to be in that room.
We formed a little less than eight months ago. Standing on that stage, pitching in front of judges with such varying backgrounds, and hearing every one of them weigh in with different ideas on where this could go (different markets, different applications, different advice) was exactly the kind of reality check we needed this early. It’s one thing to believe in an idea. It’s another to hear a room full of experienced people independently see potential in it too.
If we’re being honest, the best part of the night wasn’t even the pitch. It was standing around during deliberation with a dozen other early-stage founders, all just as nervous and just as excited, trading stories about what it’s like to build something from nothing right here in Central New York. That energy is contagious, and we’re leaving tonight more motivated than when we walked in.
Thank you to Whitman School of Management and everyone who put this competition together. Second place feels like a great place to start.
